Croatian Cultural Heritage
Why Local Cultural Identity Deserves Recognition
National heritage is made of countless local traditions. Each village and region deserves to be seen and heard.

When people speak of national heritage, they often picture a few famous symbols. Yet Croatian culture is really a mosaic of local traditions, each with its own songs, dances, dialect and dress. Recognising local identity means recognising the richness of the whole.
Small places, rich traditions
Smaller communities often hold the most distinctive traditions, precisely because they developed in close-knit settings. These traditions can be vulnerable when populations change, which makes documenting and celebrating them all the more important.
Identity without exclusion
Pride in local identity is not about drawing boundaries. It is about knowing one's own story well enough to share it with others — and being curious about theirs in return.
Our role
Our association takes its name from a place and a flower. We see it as our responsibility to keep the traditions associated with our community visible, respected and open to everyone.
